  4. A Dollars WORTH…!

The Silver Dollar was minted with a Specific SILVER CONTENT… by formulation !

Often COIN DEALERS… sell them for 6-7-8 Dollars as they are Not Worth much as far a Pure Silver content!

YOU can buy SILVER…. from some Coin and Jewelry Dealers.. in a “tiny” amount with a Certificate of Purity!

    Thanks, RR

  6. You can take it to a coin shop and have them give you a rough estimate. Alternatively, you can buy a coin catalog and look it up in there. The value depends on many factors: the number still in exisence, the condition of the coin, or any imperfections in the coin. American coins are usually only worth the amount of silver in them as the US mints millions of them and they don’t ever become scarce.

  8. The 1888 as well as the 1888-O is worth from $13.50 in low circulated grades to around $16.75 in higher circulated grade of almost uncirculated. The rare one is the 1888-S it is worth $88 to $170 in the same grades. The mint mark if any is on the eagle side near the bottom below the bow. The above values are about what a dealer would pay.
