I purchased 200 oz of American silver eagles for 4027 usd, sold it for 4100 usd but lost 200 usd because i had to ship it and pay ebay and pay pay pal service fees.

Yes I personally think you should have held on to it for the long term but I can't give personal financial advice.
You can always buy silver back so no big loss except for transaction costs.
