You will be paying a premium over the silver bullion price so if you want to invest in silver, which is likely a good idea at the moment, you might be better off buying silver bullion instead of collectables.

Silver is currently trading at $ 35.89/ oz. Silver Eagles command a $ 1-5 premium over the spot price of silver depending who you sell them to.

Question by : Why do people buy Silver from ebay when it is cheaper with APMEX?
I was comparing the end price of auctions on ebay for 1 roll of Silver American Eagles and I found out that during the weekend they sell for about $ 800, which makes $ 40 per coin without shipping. Currently Apmex sells those at about less than $ 37 without shipping. Why do people take their chances on ebay, rather than apmex?
